Keith Bunting

Keith Bunting, the Area Administrator in the North,  passed away at home on Friday evening. Keith has served soccer and the referee community for many, many years. Most recently he has been the State Referee Registrar along with his duties as Area Administrator.  Keith has been an instructor for many years and has taught the entry level ITIP class for most, if not all, the current instructors throughout the state.

The family will receive friends at the Adam Green Funeral home, 721 Elden Street, Herndon, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Monday, December 30. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 31, at 10 AM at St. Timothys Episcopal Church, 432 Van Buren Street, Herndon.

A graveside service and internment with full military honors will be conducted at Arlington National Cemetary on  Thursday, January 16, 2003 at 1 oclock PM. Gifts in Memory of Keith may be made to Reston Interfaith, 11484 Washington Plaza West, Suite 400, Reston, VA 20190, with the notation: In Memory of Keith Bunting

Keiths tremendous support and willingness to take on any job will sorely be missed throughout the referee program. Keiths death is also a tremendous personal loss for me. Keith taught the very first instructor class I took, worked with me and served as a mentor to me as I developed as an instructor in the Chantilly Youth Association, let me assist him in teaching the introductory ITIP classes, and was always a phone call away when I needed advice in my current position. Keith was a good man, a committed supporter of referees, and a good friend. Our sport and our community is less rich today.
