VYSA CONVENTION
February 3-4, 2012

VYSA Convention

It is scheduled for February 3 and 4, 2012 in Richmond, Virginia.   We are bringing Kari Seitz, US Soccer FIFA Referee, to present several sessions at the convention and talk about refereeing at the highest level.  Kari is regarded as one of the best referees in the world and was the odds-on favorite to referee the final of the FIFA Women’s World Cup last year, had the US not made the final match.  She refereed the third-place match instead.  She has refereed in four Women’s World Cups and multiple international tournaments and Olympics.  In addition to Kari Seitz, Sandra Serafini, currently on the staff at US Soccer as the Women’s Professional Referee Coordinator and WPS assignor and coordinator of officials, will also conduct referee sessions at the Convention to include officiating the women’s game and a discussion of 7 Cautionable Offenses.  “Fini” as she is often called, became a National Referee in 2005 and was named to the FIFA International Panel of Women Referees in 2006 and officiated in North America, Europe and Asia, including U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifying matches and various senior tournaments.  At US Soccer, she is working to develop a curriculum for professional level officials.  However, both youth and adult referees will benefit from her talks at the Convention.

Both of our guest speakers will be very informative and interesting for referees at all levels.   Click here for details about the referee presentations.  Please consider attending the convention and referee breakout sessions.  Go to www.vysa.com for registration details.
